These are some old acrylic paintings I photographed.


I did this one back in college around the summer of 2001.











This one is of a Colombian "silletera," or flower carrier.









This painting was inspired by one of my mother's quilts that looks just like the colorful fabric.

Here are some sketches I did while on the train home a couple of weeks ago. I hope to clean them up and add some color soon.

Cornelius

This is an illo of our rabbit Cornelius. Cornelius thinks that he is actually a poodle and he can never get enough of asking for treats. He is very demanding but we love him very much.

Day Job Update

Here you go in all it's color glory. I would also like to point out the frill collar. Just because it's an office doesn't mean you can't add a bit of whimsy.

Day Job

Just like a lot of other artists I have a "day job." It pays the bills, for my master's degree, and also pays for all my doodling and computer equipment. During the day I am a "budget assistant III" at NYU. That pretty much means I do clerical work at one of the financial offices. I have a trusty calculator and make sure our professors are paid on time and other such things. The work isn't what I would call exciting, or thrilling, but I get health insurance while I put myself through school and save up some cash.

However since I work in an office I try to put on a professional demeanor as much as possible. Below please find a doodle of myself as budget assistant III.

I don't really look as dejected as this most of the time. Edith and I usually manage to spend a good amount of the day telling each other jokes and stories and I also take a lot of doodle breaks, and I also try to wear my wonder woman t-shirt, elmo t-shirt and general t-shirt collection as much as possible. You know, to keep spirits high.

Exciting News!

First of all I would like to apologize for abandoning my blog duties for so long. As some of you knew I was away on a 2 week vacation, and then I got back... and well got busy/lazy. But I'm back now and with very exciting news.

This August I went to Orlando to visit Joe and also TO go to Disney World. On our first night he surprised me with a very pretty sparkly ring. A question was asked, a yes was answered and the rest will soon to be a happy ending.
